La Herencia® Chili Lime Chicken Flautas with cactus salad

Ingredients for the Flautas

  • 1 package La Herencia® Chili Lime with Cilantro Chicken

  • Vegetable oil

  • 1/2 white onion sliced

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • Corn tortillas

Ingredients for the cactus salad

  • 4 cactus paddles, despined

  • Water

  • Salt

  • ½ white onion

  • 2 tomatoes

  • ½ purple onion chopped

  • ½ cup cilantro chopped

  • 1 lime

  • ¼ cup queso fresco

  • 1 tsp. oregano

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Instructions for Chili Lime with Cilantro Chicken flautas

Slice white onion, and mince garlic cloves.

Heat oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Add La Herencia® Chili Lime with Cilantro Chicken. Cook product for 6 minutes covered, flip, and continue to cook for 5 additional minutes covered or until Internal temperature of 165°F is reached on instant read thermometer.

Remove from pan, place in cutting board, and shred chicken with 2 forks. Add chicken back to pan, mix until onion and garlic sauté.

Heat tortillas on warm griddle. Add shredded chicken near the edge of tortilla. Begin rolling tortilla and placing them in pan with hot vegetable oil. Place tortilla opening facing oil, to seal and avoid spilling of chicken. Once flautas are crispy, remove from oil and into a towel to absorb excess oil.
