La Herencia® Carne Asada Torta

Ingredients for the torta

  • 1 package La Herencia® Carne Asada

  • Olive oil

  • 1 tomato thinly sliced

  • 1 avocado slices

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • ¼ cup refried beans

  • Telera rolls (sliced across)

  • 2 tbps. sour cream

  • 12 slices pickled chili peppers

  • Green salsa

  • ½ cup queso

  • Sprinkle cilantro

Ingredients for the green salsa

  • Olive oil

  • 6 jalapeños

  • 10 medium tomatillos

  • ½ medium white onion

  • 5 garlic cloves

  • 1 tbsp. chicken bouillon

  • 1 tbsp. powdered oregano

  • ½ cup water

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions for the torta

Begin by slicing tomato, avocado, and lettuce.

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Add oil in pan, and cook La Herencia® Carne Asada for 4 minutes covered. Flip the meat and continue to cook covered for 3 additional minutes or until internal temperature of 145°F is reached on an instant read thermometer. Remove from heat, let rest for 3 minutes.

Once meat is cool, thinly slice it. Heat refried beans, cut telera roll in half, and toast telera on pan. Add oil as needed.

Begin torta assembly by spreading refried beans across the bottom bun of the telera. Add La Herencia® Carne Asada, tomato slices, lettuce, sliced avocado, pickled chili peppers, salsa verde, queso, and sprinkle of cilantro. Layer sour cream on the top bun of the telera. Cover torta and Enjoy!
